Deck the Halls on Nov. 26

GREENVILLE — The annual Deck the Halls event celebrates the holidays in the Moosehead Lake region with a day of activities on Saturday, Nov. 26, including area merchants decorated and ready for seasonal shopping.

At 9 a.m. a thrift shop sale starts at the Union Church and also at 9 a.m. will be a ski and recreation equipment swap in the Greenville School cafeteria.

The Greenville Rec Department hosts kids’ fun and games from 9-11 a.m. at the fire department.

Children can do their shopping at the Mistletoe Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the school cafeteria, while also partaking in some activities.

The Greenville Firefighters Association conducts a Christmas tree sale on the school grounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be North Pointe Farm and Garden Center wagon rides.

Throughout the late morning and the rest of the day, participating restaurants offer Home for the Holidays lunch and dinner specials.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are set to visit the school from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Deck the Halls parade lines up at the Junction Industrial Park at 3 p.m., and the procession begins at 3:30 p.m. to travel to the Union Church (also going in and around the nursing home).

When the parade concludes at around 4 p.m. the Lights of Life Tree by the Union Church will be lit with caroling to follow.

A free family sock hop sponsored by the Greenville High School Key Club and Moosehead Kiwanis concludes the day from 6-8 p.m. in the school gym.
