V.J. “Janet” Austin

Guilford- V.J. “Janet” Austin, 82, passed away November 11, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born August 22, 1934, in Willimantic, the daugh-ter of Clifton L. Knowles, Sr. and Dorothy E. (Waitt) Knowles.
Janet was predeceased by her wonder-ful and loving husband of 52 years, Jesse R. Austin; her infant daughter, Jerry Lynn; and two brothers, Clifton Knowles, Jr., and Russell Knowles. She is survived by three daughters, Janie Lander and her husband, Greg, of Guilford, Joan Connolly and her husband, Jon, of Newton, N.J., and Judy MacLauchlan and her husband, Scott Sr., of Parkman; three grand-children, Dustin Lander and his wife, Kristen, of Guilford, Amanda Hudson and her husband, Mike, of Bangor, and Scott MacLauchlan Jr. of Parkman; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Gage; and two sisters, Thelma Weymouth of Abbot, and Irene Luce and her hus-band, Warren, of Parkman.
At Janet’s request there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the family lot in Lawn Cemetery, Guilford.
