Brownville-KI and Beyond Sled Dog Race and Dog Days of Winter event

OFF AND RUNNING — The end of Railroad Avenue in Brownville Jct. went to the dogs over the weekend as the Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club and the town of Brownville hosted the seventh annual Brownville-KI and Beyond Sled Dog Race and Dog Days of Winter event on Jan. 30-31. New in 2016 were races on both Saturday and Sunday morning. Pictured is Carol Durant with her eight-dog team just after the start of the 30-mile race on Jan. 30. The weekend also included 20-mile races and fun runs on both Saturday and Sunday.
