Would you like to teach an adult education course?

To the Editor;

Do you want to make some extra money doing something you already love to do? If you have a special talent or hobby, we would like to hear from you! We are currently recruiting Enrichment Instructors for our Spring 2016 semester.

That’s right; you can get paid for sharing your skill with others, no experience necessary. The only qualification is a willingness to share your talents. Our Spring courses generally start up the week after February Vacation (Feb. 22, 2016), and end the week before April Vacation (April 11, 2016).

You can choose to hold your course in 8 weekly sessions, one night only, all day workshops, or anything in between. Our schedule is very flexible. Our classes are held in Dexter, Dover-Foxcroft, Guilford and Milo. We are able to offer daytime classes in our Dover-Foxcroft location, Monday through Thursday. Our Dover-Foxcroft location also offers a full kitchen for food related classes, and a gym for exercise/recreational classes (subject to gym schedule/availability).

All other locations are available for late afternoon and evening classes. Dexter classes are held at our Dexter Learning Center (in the Millworks building across from Bud’s Shop n’ Save), Dover-Foxcroft classes are held at The Penquis Higher Education Center, Guilford classes are held at Piscataquis Community Secondary School, and Milo classes are held at Penquis Valley High School.

If you are interested in working with us, fill out our online form, or download our application and mail it in, email it, or drop it off to us at PVAEC Adult Education, 50 Mayo Street, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. All applications will be reviewed and approved/disapproved by our director.

We are open to all suggestions, but here is a list of some of our most requested topics: all aspects of digital photography, cooking, baking, dancing (line dancing and ballroom dancing have done extremely well in the past), exercise (Zumba, yoga, etc.), fly tying, and all types of arts and crafts.

For questions, please call 564-6525, or email hroberts@pvaec.org. We look forward to hearing from you!
