Low vision group appreciates efforts

To the Editor;

The members of the Dover Low Vision Group thank all community participants in the White Cane Walk held on October 17th.  Your interest and enthusiasm were very much appreciated in our effort to bring awareness to those who use the white cane and to the laws that protect them.

Speaking of walks … we thank Selectman Scott Taylor for enabling the placing of the crosswalk in front of The Smoke Shop.  And many thanks also to the staffs of the Division of the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Maine Department of Transportation and Foxcroft Academy, all of whom spent time and effort in making way for the crosswalk placed at the east entrance to the academy.  You have provided for the safe passages of all pedestrians.
