McCormick/Huening wedding announced

Courtney Sue McCormick and Phil Huening said their vows at their home in Appleton, August 15, 2015. They were attended by their families and surrounded by friends by the pond. Susan Vafiadis, Notary and family friend officiated. The couple wrote their own vows.

Michael McCormick, father of the bride, escorted Courtney across the bridge to her waiting groom under the arbor Phil made out of twigs. The bride wore a simple white dress and her great-grandmother’s old hat pin in her braids. Sean McCormick, brother of the bride, held the bride’s pillow with the rings. The pillow was made by her grandmother. Following the ceremony, a woodsy reception was held at the couple’s Appleton home.

Courtney is the daughter of Michael and Susan McCormick of Dexter. She is the granddaughter of George and Minnie McCormick and Betty Hamilton of Dover-Foxcroft. Courtney graduated from UMO and is a Special Education teacher in Hope. Phil is the son of BJ and John Heuning of South Thomaston. Phil attended COA and is a carpenter in Appleton.
