Color Milo 2015 coming on Oct. 3

MILO — Milo is looking forward to another Color Milo 5K fun run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 3 . Like last year this is not a timed event or a race. This year the start/finish will be at the lower parking area at the Penquis Valley School on West Main Street. Registration/check in starts at 9 a.m., the event kicks off at 10 a.m.
The number of participants will be capped at 300. Registration includes a gift bag with a Color Milo T-shirt, wristband, neon sunglasses and an individual size packet of color. All participants will receive a gift bag. There will be four color stations — one at about each half mile of the route. The final color station will be at the finish line. The color used is biodegradable but meant to stain so, please, wear clothing that you don’t mind being stained. Color Milo is a rain or shine event; however, if the weather is too bad organizers reserve the right to cancel the event in the interest of safety. There are a few openings for volunteers, if interested please contact Tammy at 943-6168.
Registration/entry forms and waivers are available in the lobby of the Milo Town Hall, the Color Milo event page on www.trcmaine.org or the Facebook event page Color Milo 2015. All participants and volunteers must complete an entry form and sign the event waiver. The address for returning forms is on the entry/registration forms.
The photo station will be set up again this year so come in the craziest outfits, fun hats, colored socks, tutus, etc. Make sure to take some before and after pics in front of the Color Milo banner.
Organizers know throwing color is fun and they want to accommodate participants so they will have individual size packets of color for sale this year. Color Milo 2015 will also have a Color Zone and ask that throwing of color before or after the walk be done in the Color Zone. This will help keep the color fun away from food and registration tables.
Breakfast is sponsored by Dunkin Donuts. Water will be at the rest stop (halfway point in the route). There will be light refreshments after the event: popcorn, cupcakes, bananas, granola bars, water and soda. Once all participants have finished Color Milo 2015, runners will gather in the Color Zone in a big group to release the color cannons for the grand finale of Milo’s most colorful event.
