SHANNON, Galen E., 65, Dover-Foxcroft, February 24, 2015. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

American-Flag-ColorPO-GalenShannonOBDOVER-FOXCROFT – Galen E. Shannon, 65, passed away February 24, 2015, at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born November 20, 1949, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Linwood E. and Nola (Goulet) Shannon.
    A U.S. Navy veteran, Galen had worked in Michigan for several years and returned to Maine in 1989. He had been employed by Rowell’s Garage as a school bus driver for twenty years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He also loved fishing and was an expert at building intricate models. In addition, he was a model train enthusiast.
    Galen is survived by his mother, Nola Shannon of Dover-Foxcroft; two brothers, Michael and his wife, Cindy, of High-lands Ranch, CO, and Blaine of Atkinson; two sisters, Dawna Decker of Lisbon Falls, and Wendy Fricke of Corinth; and several nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, with Rev. Bea Violette officiating. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
