Prior to the state festival, the Jazz Band was scheduled to travel to University of Maine at Augusta on March 3 for an all-day visit that will include an introduction to the UMA Music Department, a tour of campus, a brass workshop with Anita Jerosch (principal Bass Trombone in the Bangor Symphony Orchestra) and an afternoon jazz workshop with Steve Grover (award-winning drummer/pianist/composer) and his UMA Jazz on Tour band. This is a reciprocal visit, as UMA Jazz on Tour came to perform a concert and hold a workshop for Foxcroft Academy students earlier this year.
