Wayne S. Flint

FLINT, Wayne S., 75, Milo, at Bangor, February 16, 2015. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held in the spring at Fairview Cemetery in Bethel, VT. Arrangements are under the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo.

Flint, 75, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 16, 2015, after a long illness, at Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. He leaves his adoring wife, Dearle (Ingerson) Flint. Wayne was born October 8, 1939, in Bangor, ME, the son of Sherwin and Wyona (Rix) Flint.
    When Wayne was two years old he moved with his family to Randolph, VT. He lived for many years in Montpelier, VT and owned the Cambridge Village Market in Cambridge, VT for several years. He had dreamed for many years of owning a small town grocery and he loved every minute of it. Until his death, he thought of the many wonderful customers and of the children whom he enjoyed so much – now all grown to adults.
    Wayne served for 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, ending his military career with the Vermont Air Guard in Burlington, VT. Wayne was very proud and thankful for his country.
    Wayne served for several years as Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montpelier, VT. He also served in other leadership positions in Vermont Stake and Concord, New Hampshire Stake. He loved the people he served and loved to serve the Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a great example of one of God’s children.
    He leaves his wife, Dearle; and four children, Beverly Flint, Mark Flint, Bonnie Palmer, all of Barre, VT, and Jennifer Morehouse of Bristol, VT. He also leaves four stepchildren, Jeff Kinney of Bend, OR, Mike Kinney of Hubbardston, MA, Gayle Cornelius of Island Pond, VT, and Debra Kinney-Dearden of New Sharon, ME; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves his dear sister, Virginia Cooper of Minot, ME, and several nieces and nephews.  Wayne was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Dawn Marie; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Perkins.
    A funeral service was conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Dover ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bangor Road, Dover-Foxcroft, ME. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held in the spring at Fairview Cemetery in Bethel, VT. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, ME.
