    MILO – Gloria Stubbs Lutterell, 91, wife of the late Walter Lutterell, Sr., passed away February 20, 2015, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born March 5, 1923, in Davidson, ME, the daughter of William and Eva (Kinney) Stubbs.
    A graduate of Milo High School, Class of 1941, Gloria had worked at several Main Street businesses in Milo, including Milo Dry Goods Co., Daggett Drug Store, Pullen’s Clothing, and A&P Food Store. She worked for many years for MSAD #41, Penquis Valley Food Service, retiring as Food Service Supervisor.
    Gloria’s commitment to her church and community is evident in the many organizations she was a part of. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, OES #39, Rainbow for Girls where she had served on the Advisory Board, and a 50 year member and past president of the Ayuda Club. She served on the EAAA Board of Directors for 18 years, and was a member and past president of the Milo Garden Club.
    She was a 50 year member of the Park Street United Methodist Church. Gloria was actively involved in the church school, was a member and past president of the United Methodist Women, and served on the Board of Trustees. She served as Lay Leader, as a member of FEMA and the Maine Co-op Parish Connection, and was often seen in the church kitchen.
    Gloria is survived by her two daughters, Jayne Sharrow and Martha Kurzius. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Daniel, John, Joy and Diane, and families, including 11 great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Stephen, Eli, Dahlia, Olivia, Marley, Mariah, Carter, Madison, Hunter and Annalise. She is also survived by a sister, Leona Newman; a sister-in-law, Viola Stubbs; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her “bonus” daughters, Barbie Farrar and Gail Larson, and families.
    Gloria was predeceased by her “bonus” son, Walter Lutterell, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Mary Lutterell; two sisters, Muriel Lovell and Barbara Edgerly; and three brothers, Erroll, Clayton and Bryan Stubbs.
    Gloria enjoyed traveling with her best friend and sister-in-law, Mary, including a Heritage Tour to England and a train trip through Canada to the west coast with the “Golden Girls”.
    Friends were invited to call 5-7 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2015, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A funeral service was conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 24, at the Park Street United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. Burial in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, will take place in the spring.
