Boyd to become CEO of Old Town Orono YMCA

ne-boydmug-dcX-po-7    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA announced recently that Deb Boyd, their current executive director, will be stepping down from this position to accept the role of CEO at the Old Town Orono YMCA starting in March.
“This has been a very difficult decision for me,” Boyd said. “Over the last three years I have truly come to love this Y family. However, I need to do what I believe is best for my family and hopefully in the long run for the PRYMCA as well.”

Boyd plans to remain at the PRYMCA through the end of February and then continue on in a limited capacity through the end of June. Her work at the PRYMCA over the past three years has put the organization back on firm footing both financially and with the community and Boyd sees her work at the Old Town Y to be very similar. “The Old Town Orono Y and PRYMCA are very similar organizations and while some individual challenges are different, many of the issues are the same,” she said. “I hope that my work at both organizations will be an opportunity to bring them closer together.”
While the PRYMCA Board of Directors determines the best alternative for filling the CEO position, an interim executive director will be appointed to oversee the day-to-day operation.
