Jeff Brown joins MPCA

HSL-JeffBrown-DCX-PO-7    AUGUSTA — Jeff Brown has joined Maine Primary Care Association to lead their continuous quality improvement program.
Brown has collaborated with clinical and administrative professionals on quality and patient safety improvement initiatives in healthcare systems across the United States for over 16 years.

His health care work has ranged from the identification of risk side-effects linked to the implementation of health information technology to assessing the state of health system readiness for accountable care.
In 2002, Brown was a co-recipient of a Joint Commission/National Quality Forum John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety Award for the development of an inter-professional practice model that significantly improved the quality and safety of post-surgical care for open heart surgery patients. Close linkages to community-based patient services and support were integral to the success of this model.
Brown has authored and co-authored articles, book chapters, and books on healthcare risk, safety, and improvement topics. He earned his M.Ed. and B.S. degrees from the University of Maine. Brown will be starting his new job on March 2.
For more than 25 years, Maine Primary Care Association and its members have worked to strengthen and sustain Maine’s federally qualified health centers and its primary care system, particularly in rural and underserved communities. These include Sebasticook Family Doctors in Dover-Foxcroft, Dexter, Newport, Pittsfield and Canaan.
