Former FA salutatorian leads Colby mock trial team to national championship tournament
WATERVILLE — Foxcroft Academy graduate Chris Shorey ‘12 has helped the Colby College mock trial team earn a bid to the American Mock Trial Association’s National Championship Tournament. The lone non-rookie on a team of eight, Shorey was named an All-Region Attorney at the Northeast Regional Mock Trial Tournament, held at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire over the weekend of Jan. 30-Feb. 1, and led Colby to a seventh-place finish in a field of 24 teams. The Mules will compete in the national championship March 6-8 at Penn State University.
“I’m not surprised at all,” said father and Foxcroft Academy Head of School Arnold Shorey. “He’s always been very good at arguing.”
Shorey posted a 3.97 GPA at Foxcroft Academy and was the salutatorian of his class. He was president of Student Council, vice president of the senior class, vice president of Key Club, a member of the National Honor Society and captain of the football team.
