GONE ICE FISHING

Bangor residents Mike Lawson and Kelly Shorette took part in a bright and sunny day of fishing during last year’s Schoodic Lake Ice Fishing Derby. At noon the two registered their catch at the Knights Landing weigh station in Brownville, with Shorette’s togue measuring 23.25 inches and weighing 4.42 pounds and Lawson’s measuring 20.5 inches and weighing 2.81 pounds. This year’s 53rd annual derby takes place Feb. 14-15 on Schoodic, Ebeemee and Seboeis lakes, with proceeds benefiting Milo Fire Department charities and events.
