Standoff ends peacefully

WELLINGTON — A Wellington man is in custody at the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor after a standoff at his home on Jan. 9. Randall St. Pierre, 50, was arrested by the Maine State Police tactical team when he came out of his house about 1 p.m. St. Pierre is charged with reckless conduct with a firearm.

The charge stems from a shooting during the morning along Route 7 in Corinna after troopers said he shot at another man following an argument — the victim was not injured. Following the shooting, St. Pierre left the scene in a car, and was tracked down to his home on the Beans Corner Road in Wellington.
Troopers made several attempts to get St. Pierre to leave the house, communicating by bullhorn, but he refused and the tactical team was called about mid-morning. Three other people were also inside the house during the day, but were not being held against their will.
