Donald L. Ellis

ELLIS, Donald L., 74, Brownville, at Dover-Foxcroft, January 4, 2015. Graveside services at the family lot in the Village Cemetery, Brownville, will be held in the spring of 2015. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo.

Donald L. Ellis

    BROWNVILLE – Donald L. Ellis, 74, passed away January 4, 2015, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born November 4, 1940, in Brownville, the son of Kenneth G. Sr., and Clellie M. (Arbo) Ellis.
    Donald worked at the Peg Mill in Brownville, Great Northern Paper Co. in Millinocket, and at Guilford Woolen Mill, before retiring as an inspector for Dexter Shoe Company, where he was proudly the last person out before they ceased operation.
    Following in the footsteps of his father and brothers, Donald was a Boy Scout leader in Brownville for many years. He was a Civil War enthusiast and was extremely pleased that he had walked through most every battlefield between here and Virginia.
    Donald is survived by his sister, Annette Ellis; four nephews, Terry Ellis, Steve Ellis and his wife, Melinda, Patrick Thomas, and Daniel Thomas and his friend, Kathy; a niece, Heidi Thomas; and a brother-in-law, Hugh Thomas, Jr.
    He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Clarence Ellis and Kenneth Ellis, Jr.; and two sisters, Lola Ellis and Pauline Thomas.
    Graveside services at the family lot in the Village Cemetery, Brownville, will be held in the spring of 2015. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
