Leo A. Chadbourne

CHADBOURNE, Leo A., 88, Dover-Foxcroft, November 2, 2014. A graveside service will be held in the family lot at Chadbourne Cemetery, Harmony, November 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

American Flag ColorPO-LeoChadbourneOBDOVER-FOXCROFT – Leo A. Chadbourne, 88, died peacefully November 2, 2014, at home. He was born September 5, 1926, in Harmony, the son of Preston and Albra (Foss) Chadbourne.
    He graduated from Harmony High School, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then graduated from the University of Maine at Orono in 1951. On June 17, 1953, he married Phyllis Rich.
    After college, he worked with Eastern States Farmers Exchange for 12 years. In 1964, he and Bob Fanjoy started Dexter Agway, a farm supply store, as an Agway Representative. Bob passed away in 1978 and Leo ran the store for the next 20 years (34 years in all), retiring in 1998.
    Leo is survived by two sons, Mark and his wife, Beth, of Old Town, and Keith of San Francisco; two grand-daughters, Amy Leland and her husband, Matthew, and Rachel Solomon and her husband, Jeremy; a sister, Arlene; many nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by Phyllis, his wife of 60 years; his parents; a brother, Almond; and a sister, Myrtle.
    A graveside service will be held in the family lot at Chadbourne Cemetery, Harmony, November 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
