PO-PollyLabonteOB    SANGERVILLE – Polly Towne Labonte, 70, passed away quietly in her sleep on October 14, 2014, after a nearly eight year battle with cancer. Polly was born August 22, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, to Dr. Lockwood and Mrs. Annamarie (Kelm) Towne.
    Polly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University and a Masters of Social Work degree from Rhode Island College. She worked professionally as a psychiatric social worker and retired to Maine with her beloved husband, Ron, in 2006.
    Polly was an avid golfer, skier, and “master fisherwoman.” Polly was a gifted photographer, and one of her photographs was chosen for the front cover of the of the Natural Resources Council of Maine’s 2014 Nature of Maine Calendar. She served on the Board of Directors for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA, and as vice-president of the Sangerville Public Library Association, where her energy and enthusiasm will be sorely missed.
    Polly is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ronald Labonte, of Sangerville; her daughter, Lori and her husband, William Mitchell, and her granddaughter, Myka “the Wonder child”, of Deering, NH; her step-daughter, Jacqueline and her husband, Kevin MacDonald, and their children, Kaila and Jenna, of Daphne, AL; and her stepson, Gene Labonte, and his wife, Anne Marie, and their children, Kate and David, of Deep River, CT. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara and her husband, David Chambers, their son, James and his wife, Veronica, and their daughter, Sarah. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Towne.
    Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 170 US Rt 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, 04105, or to the Piscataquis Regional YMCA, 48 Park St., Dover-Foxcroft 04426, or to the Sangerville Public Library, PO Box 246, Sangerville 04479.
