JD Foundation ‘Keeping Our Communities Warm Day’ Oct. 18

ABBOT — The JD Foundation will hold its annual Keeping Our Communities Warm Day on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 107 Main Road (Route 6/15).
For the past several years, the JD Foundation has collected donations of winter clothing for families in need.
It started when Cheryl and Victor Morin of the JD Foundation held a Fourth of July weekend yard sale to raise money for their nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and education.

Recently, however, the mid-summer fundraiser was changed to an auction rather than a large yard sale a few years ago. So they’re now asking for donations to help families in need this winter.
Many people have leftover items from their own yard sales or clothing that their children have outgrown but are still in good condition. Items needed include winter coats, boots, sweaters, hats, mittens and other gear.
