Race to End Domestic Abuse results

    GUILFORD — The Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance’s 18th annual five kilometer (3.1 miles) Race to End Domestic Abuse took place on the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 5 with the following results:

    FIRST PLACE — Gabe Piquette, who stars for the Foxcroft Academy cross country team, was the 2014 Race to End Domestic Abuse winner. Piquette won by 40 seconds in 20:56.

    ALMOST THERE — Kohei Kotani, a student at Foxcroft Academy, nears the finish line as he came in second in a field of 37 on Sunday.

    PHOTO FINISH — Abram Landy and Elizabeth Morrison crossed the finish line at nearly the same time, with Morrison ending up with a slight edge to take third place overall. The two won their respective age brackets with Morrison — who is a senior at Foxcroft Academy — taking top honors in the women’s youth division and Landy having the top performance in the men’s adult standings.

    WALKING TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT — Hundreds of participants, representing various organizations and others being ordinary citizens, walked to show their support for the movement to end domestic violence on the afternoon of Oct. 5 in Guilford.
