Stanley Gene Pride

TAMPA, FL – Stanley Gene Pride, 82, of Tampa, Florida, died Thursday, September 25, 2014. Stan was born in Tampa to Gene and Mildred Pride.
    He attended Broward and Memorial Schools and graduated from H.B. Plant High School. He attended Duke University and The University of Florida where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Stan was President of Pride Manufacturing Company and Pride Golf Tee Company. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, and running and loved to share these interests with his grandchildren. He was a member of the United Baptist Church in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and attended Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church in Tampa.
    He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Liza; his son, Bob and his significant other, Janie Smith; his grandchildren: Brooke Wade, Darren Bishop, Nate Bishop, Paige Pride, and Jordan Pride; three great-grandchildren: Jacob, Liam, and Finn; his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ariel Ellis; brother-in-law, Frank Siler; five nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
