LO-Greenham-DCX-PO-38    DEXTER — On Friday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m., David Greenham — actor, director, playwright and newspaper reporter extraordinaire — will appear at the Abbott Memorial Library with his production of “Maine at Work.”
The one-hour presentation asks the audience: “What do YOU think about the prospects for work in Maine?”
“Maine at Work” takes this topic and turns it into a wide-ranging performance based on historical documents and characters, humor, little-known facts, thought-provoking tales (tall and otherwise), and perspectives from real Mainers.
When the performance is finished, Greenham — who performed in “Taxing Maine” and “As Maine Grows” — will lead the audience in a conversation about jobs and employment in their town.
There is no attempt to change opinions or to reach consensus; the goal is simply to encourage the audience to reflect on and share their thoughts about what they have heard and seen.
The performance and discussion are funded by the Maine Humanities Council, and brought to you by the Abbott Memorial Library, the Dexter Historical Society and Wayside Theatre.  Admission is free.
