FA X-C opens at Ellsworth Invitational
ELLSWORTH — The Foxcroft Academy cross country team began the new season by running in the Ellsworth Invitational on Sept. 6.
The Pony boys finished with a score of 215 points, placing 10th out of 12 squads. Junior Gabe Piquette was the top finisher for Foxcroft as he covered the approximate three miles in a time of 19 minutes, 38.07 seconds to place 21st out of 90 entrants.

Next to cross the finish line was senior Noah Simpson, who came in 38th at 20:36.87. Third was junior Kohei Kotani, who placed 39th with a time of 20:38.13, and fourth for the Ponies was sophomore Liam Casey, whose time of 21:17.08 was good for 51st place. Rounding out the scoring was junior Hunter Giacomuzzi, who came in 78th at 24:04.68.
Foxcroft had two other runners take part in the Ellsworth Invitational. Placing 79th in a time of 24:06.64 was sophomore Peter Xue and coming in 84th at 26:45.81 was sophomore Ethan Poland.
Freshman William Strauch of Dexter Regional High School took part in the Sept. 6 meet. Strauch ran a time of 20:36.76 to finish 37th overall.
Three Foxcroft representatives ran in the girls’ varsity race. Junior Jen Clawson had the highest placement of the trio, as she was 41st out of 75 entrants with a time of 25:32.72.
Senior Anna Sedlackhova came in 62nd with a time of 29:29.41, and finishing in 71st place was freshman Virginia Macomber at 34:46.06.
