    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Muriel Small, 94, wife of the late Irville Small, died July 30, 2014, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born October 11, 1919, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Stephen and Beulah (Green) Pembroke.
    Muriel owned and operated Merrick Square Market in Dover-Foxcroft during the 1950’s. After a move to Connecticut, where she lived for over 20 years, she returned to Stetson to be near her daughter and grandsons. She was deeply involved and thoroughly enjoyed her association with the Sebasticook Valley Snowmobile Club. Muriel was very supportive of the American Legion and Maine veterans.
    She is survived by a grandson, Ted Crawford and Ann; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Crawford; two great-grandsons, Thomas Crawford, and Jeffery Crawford and Bridget; a great-great-grandson, Jonathan Crawford; several nieces and nephews.
    She was predeceased by her first husband, Malcolm Blethen; her second husband, Irville Small; her daughter, Jean (Blethen) Crawford; a grandson, Thomas Crawford; four brothers and two sisters.
    A graveside memorial service will be conducted 9 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the family lot in Dover Cemetery, with Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sebasticook Valley Snowmobile Club, 538 Durham Bridge Road, Newport, ME 04953. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral home.
