Rural Development grant approved for Shaw Library

    WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that two community projects in Maine will receive grant funding totaling $53,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture.
    The Shaw Public Library Association in Greenville will receive $50,000 toward the cost of a connector building between the main building and annex and Tri-Town Ambulance and Emergency Rescue Services, Inc. based in West Paris will receive $3,000 to purchase a more reliable ambulance.

    “We are pleased the USDA has awarded these funds, which will support valuable services for Mainers in the Greenville and the West Paris areas,” Collins and King said in a joint statement.
    The funding will be distributed through the USDA Rural Development’s Community Facility Loan and Grant program.
    The Shaw Public Library Association and Tri-Town Ambulance and Emergency Rescue Services will also receive federal loans of $46,500 and $17,000 respectively.
