Brownville Public Library events

BROWNVILLE — The Brownville Public Library is now open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. We are also open the last Saturday of each month from 3-5 p.m. We offer fax services and photocopying for a small fee. The new board of trustees is looking forward to making more improvements that will better serve the community.

This summer there will be a children’s reading program the theme of which is “FIZZ, BOOM, READ!” It will center on a science theme with reading and experiments. Last year we had about 20 children who participated and look forward to another successful year.
A book sale will be held at the Brownville Community Church Old Home Weekend, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. We have a large supply of books that are duplicates or need to be sorted. Hopefully this will create a more organized and easier to access library. Our new librarian is Autumn Chadwick and she is currently working on cataloging all the books for easier borrowing. We are also able to access Interlibrary loan from bigger institutions across the state of Maine.
Please stop in and make yourselves known. We are here to make your reading experience better.
