Newspaper was unfair to Sangerville selectperson

To the Editor:
    My wife and I were appalled to read the letter published in the Piscataquis Observer last week by Richard Dobson that was in essence a character assassination of Selectperson, Melissa Randall. The statements propounded by Mr. Dobson verged on the libelous and slanderous. That you printed the piece at all perplexed us.

    Despite the venom of persons such as Mr. Dobson, Melissa Randall, has represented the Town of Sangerville with dignity, a keen intellect, foresight, hard work, determination and in the interests of all the citizens of this community. That The Piscataquis Observer has allowed her to be so maligned in the local newspaper is very disturbing.
