Gossip is for small people
To the Editor:
A woman called me and said, “I know you but you won’t remember me. I used to go into your pizza business years ago. Can you help by writing a letter to the editor on how I can help my granddaughter on how to handle the lies some teens are spreading about her.” She is very upset. She reads the local paper as well as the Bangor Daily News.
There are two reasons most teens or older people will tell lies about someone.
The first is out of jealousy and the second is they just don’t agree on something. The woman said that her granddaughter is a three-sport star and she is pro-life.
This is what I say to her granddaughter or anyone that has to put up with anyone that likes to tell lies about them. She should stay strong — what can anyone do to her with words? They harm themselves more than her and they cannot escape God’s judgment.
I would also tell her to read this quote and think about the words. “Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people gossip about other people.”
People who believe what they hear at times can be no better than those who gossip.
I hope this letter to the editor is to this woman’s satisfaction and will help her granddaughter or anyone else.
