MAKING A DIFFERENCE

This spring the Sunday school children at the Brownville Community Church-UCC set a $1,000 goal for the Raish Peavey Haskell Children’s Cancer and Treatment Center in Brewer.

Through a bake sale, a seedling sale, a Father’s Day basket raffle and the generosity of Brownville area residents, they surpassed their goal and presented a check for $1,086 to the Eastern Maine Healthcare Foundation on June 19. Rusty Ladd won the Father’s Day basket. Earlier Sheri Conley won the Mother’s Day basket which netted $400 for breast cancer research at Cancer Care of Maine.
