TOP HUNTERS — Gemini True, left, and Shyanne Dever receive prizes from Librarian Linda Hall after they won in their age groups in the Sangerville Public Library’s scavenger hunt during the recent bicentennial celebration.
The library began its summer reading program “Fizz, Boom, Read” on June 19 and will end it on Aug. 1. Children from all communities are welcome. The books to be read in this program have a science theme with hands-on activities for participants. Children ages 3-6 will be part of the “Parents As Reading Partners” program in which parents will read the books to their children. Children ages 7-11 will be in the “Independent Readers Program” but they can have the selections read to them if necessary. On Aug. 1 there will be a party for all who have participated with prizes for everyone, ice cream cones, a free book for each reader and a drawing for two bicycles and helmets for children in the 7-11 age group.
There is still time to register for this exciting program by calling the library at 876-3491. Library cards for children are always free at the Sangerville Public Library as are cards for adults who reside in Sangerville.
