Willard “Bill” J. King

   NEW HARTFORD, CT AND DOVER-FOXCROFT – Willard “Bill” J. King, passed away on April 18, 2014. He was the loving husband of Virginia King for 53 years. Born July 24, 1927, in Maine; the son of the late Walter and Alice (Davis) King.
    Bill was drafted to the U.S. Army in 1947. He graduated in 1949 from Foxcroft Academy and then attended Radio and TV school. Bill moved to New Hartford in 1960. He retired from Pratt & Whitney at age 62 and then worked at Stop & Shop for 13 years. He was an avid bowler bowling in the Senior League, played Bingo with the Seniors in New Hartford and a member of the Riverton Grange and he was a member of the Amos Beecher Lodge in New Hartford for approx. 40 years.  In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Philip King and his wife, Antonietta of MA and John King and his wife, Theresa of New Hartford; a daughter, Jane King of New Hartford; two sisters, JoAnne Metivier and her husband, Dennis of Corinna and Jean Grinnell and her husband, Harold of Milo; two grandchildren, Philip Anthony King and Angelo Girard King; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Philip Davis King.
    Services were held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at North Congregational Church, New Hartford.
