GIVING TO OTHERS ON HER BIRTHDAY
Saia Miles, a third-grader from Sangerville, decided with the support of her mother that she wanted to do something different on her birthday. Miles wanted to do something larger than herself, she wanted to share her birthday by giving to companion animals. She asked her friends and family to donate money, dog or cat food, litter and pet toys instead of presents.

Miles said she wanted to give her donations to a local animal organization. So she and her mother looked online and found P.E.T.S. She presented the 501(c)3 organization with a check for $120, along with bags of dog and cat food, litter and lots of dog toys. “Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity Saia, you’ve helped many cats and dogs,” P.E.T.S. officials said.
