Lyford named Principal’s Award winner at Penquis

    MILO — Trevor Lyford, the son of John and Marilyn Lyford of LaGrange, has been selected as the Maine Principal’s Award winner for Penquis Valley High School. Lyford was selected using the following criteria: academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship and leadership. He is presently ranked first in his class and hopes to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts and major biology.

PRINCIPAL’S AWARD RECIPIENT — Penquis Valley High School senior Trevor Lyford, pictured with Principal Matthew Hackett, is the school’s 2014 Maine Principal’s Award winner. Award criteria includes academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship and leadership.

    Lyford has enjoyed an outstanding senior year receiving the following awards and recognition: PVC Class C Boys Soccer Player of the Year, in basketball he was named to the Bangor Daily News All-Tournament team, PVC first team all-stars, PVC All-Defensive team, McDonald’s C/D East All-Star team, McDonald’s All-Academic boys team and a semifinalist for the Mr. Maine Basketball Award.
    Lyford epitomizes the criteria for the MPA Principal’s Award.  He is certain to enjoy a successful future with his academic capabilities, work ethic, leadership skills and personality.
