Maine McDonald’s all-stars are selected by a statewide ballot of high school basketball coaches conducted by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches in January.
Both Sam Keane of Foxcroft Academy and Lyford were chosen for the boys All-State Academic Team, as two of the 11 male selections from across Maine in all four classes.
Academic honorees are nominated by their coaches and are then selected by a panel of leaders from the high school basketball community. The players have a GPA of 90 or above for seven consecutive semesters, have been a member of their varsity team for at least two complete seasons and were significant contributors in the 2013-14 season.
