    GONE ICE FISHING — Bangor residents Mike Lawson and Kelly Shorette took part in a bright and sunny day of fishing on Saturday, Feb. 15 as part of the 52nd annual Schoodic Lake Ice Fishing Derby.

At noon the two registered their catch at the Knights Landing weigh station in Brownville, with Shorette’s togue measuring 23.25 inches and weighing 4.42 pounds and Lawson’s measuring 20.5 inches and weighing 2.81 pounds. The derby took place Feb. 15-16 on Schoodic, Ebeeme and Seboeis lakes, with proceeds from the weekend benefiting Milo Fire Department charities and events.
