Northwoods Gourmet Girl featured at San Francisco food show

The Maine International Trade Center (MITC) and the Maine Made program — a business marketing initiative administered by the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development — was scheduled to tout a handful of unique Maine food products at an international food show Jan. 19-21.

Among the six Maine Made members was the Northwoods Gourmet Girl of Greenville, with the half dozen companies representing the state’s diverse and exceptional culinary industry at the 39th annual Winter Fancy Foods Show (WFFS) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
A strong presence at the widely attended showcase was expected to bring new revenue to Maine businesses from the over 18,000 buyers touring the three-day event. As many as 80,000 food items from over 35 countries were featured at the show.
“The Winter Fancy Food show presents a tremendous opportunity for Maine’s specialty food companies,” said Jeff Bennett, senior trade specialist from MITC. “Key buyers and distributors from the west coast and international markets are there to make purchasing decisions and product selections for the upcoming year. By branding together as Maine Made, we can really highlight what the state of Maine has to offer.”
