Caring people in our community
To the Editor;
    On behalf of the Bangor Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child and Family Services, my colleagues and I

want to give heart-felt thanks to several devoted and caring people in our community; Liza Pembroke Smith, Kathy Leland, Katie Day, Kerri Raymond, Will Wedge, Dennis Dyer, Jack Clukey, Bob Ade, and Bobby Hartford.
    Kathy, Katie and Kerri organized the Glow Run held on December 13th which drew 32 runners/walkers who braved the cold that night. Thank you, Jack Clukey and Dennis Dyer for ensuring the safe conditions of roads and sidewalks for the participants. Will Wedge provided sugar cookies and cocoa to warm up everyone!
    Liza organized the ball at Pat’s Pizza December 14th. Thank you, Bob for offering your dining room and Bobby Hartford for your iconic disc jockey services! And thanks again to Will Wedge for donating treats. I understand over 100 people attended and danced!
    The two events raised over $1,000 for the purchase of gifts for the foster children in Piscataquis and Penobscot counties. My colleagues and I had a blast buying and delivering gifts to the children we serve. I am fortunate to live amongst such benevolent people.
