STUDENT VOLUNTEERS — Foxcroft Academy Key Club members volunteering at the Pine Tree Hospice annual meeting held last month at the East Sangerville Grange were front, from left, Avery Carroll and Nathnael Feleke and, back, Clay Carroll and Fern Morrison. As a way to thank the secondary school for all the efforts in supporting Pine Tree Hospice, the organizaiton made a contribution to the Horizon Scholarship Fund. The fund provides the opportunity to participate in educational endeavors outside the classroom.
Executive Director Jane Stitham and all of the PTH staff wanted to find a way to show their appreciation and thank FA’s students, faculty and staff for all their efforts over the past year. In this vein, PTH made a contribution to the Horizon Scholarship Fund, which offers students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in educational endeavors outside the classroom and beyond the boundaries of Dover-Foxcroft. Participants are able to learn from unique experiences and opportunities and bring back what they have gained from their experiences to share with the Foxcroft Academy community. This donation was greatly appreciated and will be used to make Foxcroft Academy and the town of Dover-Foxcroft a brighter place.
PTH and Foxcroft Academy work together for the greater good of the community. Foxcroft students have spent countless hours volunteering at hospice events: setting up for the Sound Bites Music Festival, greeting guests at the Celebration of Remembrance, designing the annual report and newsletters, and much more. PTH, with the help of Foxcroft Academy and countless volunteers in the community, is able to support and comfort those who need help in times of suffering or grief.
