Cookson family appreciates support
To the Editor;
    We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity and support during our July 14 tragedy.

Experiencing something as devastating as the fire is life altering. The outpouring from all the communities and businesses, near and far, was humbling and overwhelming.
    We will be eternally grateful for everything that was done for us because it relieved some of the stress. It also showed us just how lucky we are to live in this community with so many true friends.
    Our family would especially like to acknowledge all the brave firefighters who responded to the blaze. The dedication and unselfish bravery of all these people who tried to save our home was remarkable.
    Currently we are living near the farm in a home generously offered to us by Charlie and Mina Shaw.
    This house is finally starting to feel like home as we have begun to bake and can the few vegetables that were not destroyed by the fire. We diligently continue to work with the remaining animals and are trying to secure a safe place for them as winter rapidly approaches.
    Even though the cleanup of the debris has begun, future plans to rebuild on the farm site are unclear. Negotiations with the insurance company are still ongoing so building this year seems impossible.
    Again, we want to thank everyone for their support, courage, compassion and generosity.
