Letters to the Editor A return to civility
A return to civility
To the Editor;
Now that civility has prevailed once again, though doubts may still remain for some, Sangerville “The town of two Knights” has
ventured to claim its “Rights” to its last best resort of governance. It was done without a war, prevalent these days, “shoot-em-up”’ tactics of the Old West, nor hillbilly-style feuds. Though the concept of their Rights Based Ordinance is new to most, and we must step back and review how our government has grown itself like a virus, not responding the needs of its host “We the People” they have taken their granted and guaranteed rights as civil citizens to a new level.
One that finally proclaims that “Civil Rights” are truly above the U.S. Constitution. A Constitution that has to guarantee these “Rights” in order to sustain itself as a document. A Constitution that abolishes other forms of governments, not devised by the people, for the people, through the people yet lets the voice of the people to correct the wording within its existence to meet the needs of the people.
I invite all citizens, those of Sangerville and surrounding communities to attend a Democracy School in your local area as announced. As the opponents stated, and as the proponents will also state — become Informed.
“That” we can agree upon.
