Moose on the Run Oct. 13

GREENVILLE — The Camden National Bank Moose on the Run 5K Race/Walk and 1K Fun Run will be taking place on Sunday, Oct. 13.

The race, sponsored by Camden National Bank and presented by the Piscataquis Regional YMCA, is in its 12th year and it promises to be better than ever.
“We’re excited this year because the race will start and end at C.A. Dean Hospital.” said Patrick Myers who is organizing the race for the Piscataquis Regional YMCA. “We’re not worried that the racer’s will need medical attention, we’re celebrating that C.A. Dean is our partner in supporting a healthy community.”

The 1K Fun Run for kids 12 and under will start at 9:30 a.m. The 5K will begin with the walkers leaving at 10 a.m. and then the runners will leave at 10:30 a.m.  Again this year, all the proceeds from the race will go towards scholarships and programs for Moosehead-area residents. “We want the people and businesses in the Moosehead area to know that when they support Moose on the Run they are also supporting their community,” Myers said.
The first 100 registrants will receive a commemorative shirt. Participants will also receive a goody bag filled with treats and be eligible to win prizes donated by local businesses. The public can register at Camden National Bank in Greenville or at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA in Dover-Foxcroft, by calling the Y at 564-7111 or online at www.prymca.org/events.
