Chamber seeks Business of the Year nominations

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce celebrates with local businesses. The Chamber has started its campaign to find some businesses for this year’s “Business of the Year” award. Chamber officials wish to show off a business for its accomplishments during the  year. 

    The award will be presented to the worthy participant at the member only “Gala” on Saturday, Oct. 19.  The gym at  Penquis Higher Education on Mayo Street in Dover-Foxcroft will be the venue for a delightful evening. Dancing, light food and a cash bar will be offered for  the  invitation only evening. In 2012 the award was given to French Construction of Guilford, and Jim French will be on hand this year to present the 2013 Business of the Year honor.
    Nomination papers have been e-mailed to each of the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce members. The public is encouraged to participate in nominating a business for the award as well. Nomination papers can be found in several business throughout the community, as well as at the Chamber office on South Street. Nomination papers can also be obtained by e-mailing  exdir@piscataquischamber.com or calling the office at 564-7533. The nomination deadline is Sept. 18.
