‘Garland Produces’theme of annual fair Friday-Sunday

    GARLAND — The Garland Days Family Fair theme this year is “Garland Produces”. For over 35 years this small agricultural town has produced a three day fair for residents, neighbors, and friends with games, contests, crafts, food, music, and dance. This year’s music and dance venues are:

    Friday, Sept. 6 at the GAR Hall: Pie and ice cream social, 5-7 p.m.; Deb Maynard and Terry Spearing playing Jazz and Latin music.
    Friday, Sept. 6 at the Grange hall: Teen dance with DJ Elijah Gudroe.
    Saturday, Sept. 7 at the recreation field: Penobscot Indian Drummers & Dancers will perform, 12 p.m.; country music with Ken and Jane Brooks, 2 p.m.; children’s contra dance, 3:30 p.m.
    Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Grange hall: family contra dance with John McIntire calling and music by Georgia Prickett and the Reel People Band.
    Sunday, Sept. 8 at the recreation field: Hymn sing with the Universalist Church of Dexter and Val Albertini on piano,  10 a.m. Public can join in; music will be provided. Harold Batchelder and the Old Diamonds with old country music, 12 p.m.
