Canning demonstration

    DEXTER — The Dexter Dover Area Towns in Transition (DDATT) will sponsor a home canning demonstration on Friday, Aug. 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Abbott Memorial Reading Room in Dexter.

Pegg Gannon, an  alternative health researcher, organic farmer, gardener, and preserver of foods for 50 years will demonstrate two methods of canning: pressure and water bath. Suitable tools, utensils, and kettles will be on display. No fruits or vegetables will be actually canned. If time allows and participants are interested, she will also discuss preserving meat.
