Big plans for 2013 River Festival continue

GUILFORD — There are some very exciting additions to this year’s River Festival on Saturday, July 27. We hope you can come out early so you can see the redneck-themed parade that starts at 9:30 a.m. Please contact Carrie Fellows at 717-5271 if you are interested in having a group or float in the parade.

Then you will want to watch out for the tsunami. Ride the wave on this huge water slide. Surf down 60 feet through the white water and plunge into the tidal pool at the end. This is the tallest, fastest, most adventurous water slide in Maine. The water slide and the traditional bounce house will be open all day.
Also, new this year, is a pig scramble at 1 p.m. There will be three classes and registration will be the day of the festival. The annual duck race will launch at 3 p.m. You can get duck race tickets at Key Bank, The Red Maple, and Forget Me Not Flowers. On the stage will be the very popular Emerald Sky and Stillwaters.
As always we will have great food vendors offering hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, BBQ chicken, dough boys, as well as the beer tent and much more. There will also be a large variety of craft vendors.  Then to cap off a great day there will be a fireworks a display along the river.
If you are interested in having a booth or need more information, please contact Carrie Fellows at c_fellows@msn.com or 717-5271. Stay tuned for more details to follow.
