Frank P. “Buz” Stone Sr.
MONSON – Frank P. “Buz” Stone Sr., 79, died June 26, 2013, at his home in Monson of a broken heart. He was born December 17, 1933, in Parkman, the son of Frank and Thelma (Stevens) Stone.
He served in the US Army toward the end of the Korean War. Frank (a devoted democrat) was a self employed woodsman for all of his life. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his self-made saw mill. He also enjoyed listening to old country music, watching old western movies, his beloved Red Sox, and building model planes for his grandchildren. Frank also enjoyed a good game of poker.
He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Rena (Korsman) Stone; three brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by six children: Shirleen Stone Vainio and husband, Steven of Monson and their two children, Chastity and Hannah; a daughter, Wanda “Jeannie” Stone Mooers and husband, Peter of Monson and their daughter, Amanda; a daughter, Brenda “Miko” Stone Clawson and husband, Glenn of Monson and their five children, Justin, Jennifer, Nicholas, Samuel and Heidi; a daughter, Dalynda “Molly” Stone Storer and husband, Kevin of Monson and their son, Jacob; a son, Frank “Rick” Stone of Monson and his three children, Drewcilla, Frank III, and Nea; a daughter, Nina Stone Pratt and husband, Joel of Monson and their three children, Carter, Cameron and Chloe aka “Chair”; a brother, Kenneth “Mickey”; four sisters, Althea, Evelyn, Violet and Gloria; several nieces and nephews. Papa will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, and his dog, Polly.
A celebration of the lives of Frank and Rena will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, July 7, at their residence on Water Street in Monson. A private burial will be held at the Lake Road Cemetery in Monson. The family requests that rather than buying flowers or making a donation; do something for yourself… watch an old western movie, a Red Sox game, or listen to some old country music and think of Buz.
