PVAEC director honored

    WATERVILLE — Thelma Regan, director of the Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative (PVAEC), received the MAEA Adult Education Outstanding Administrator Award at the recent Maine Adult Education Association Conference held at Colby College on June 19.

    When presenting the plaque to Regan, Tim Dresser, president of MAEA, cited her commitment to adult education. In March, 2012, Regan received the Warren “Pete” Myrick Community Service Award which recognizes a Piscataquis County citizen or organization that exemplifies Myrick’s concern for commitment for education, economic development and civic leadership in the region.

  Currently, Regan serves on New England Literacy Resource Center’s board of directors; she is an elected Maine Adult Education Association director and serves on the executive committee of the University of Maine Extension Service for Piscataquis County.
