Milo Free Public Library news

by Rochelle Williams

The summer reading program this year “Dig Into Reading” is coming up fast, it runs for five weeks from June 24 until July 26  and anyone can sign up after the program begins. The final party will be on Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. in the Milo Town Hall dining room.

We wish to encourage children to continue reading when school is closed for the summer. This program is for school age children from kindergarten through sixth grade and preschool children.
Every Wednesday afternoon there will be a local volunteer who will read to the children. There will be giveaways, drawings, prizes, and a poster contest. It will be lots of fun. After we received $300 from the Rudman Grant, we were able to purchase many wonderful books for this program.
We started a poster in our hallway that gives suggestions for authors to read for our patrons. It says “If you Like  —  may we suggest.” For example,  if you like Dan Brown – may we suggest Jack Higgins.
Questions, please call the Milo Free Public Library at 943-2612 or e-mail us at milolibrary@trcmaine.org.
Summer hours are in effect, which are Monday and Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday 1 to 7 p.m.
