Strauch is DOE intern

    AUGUSTA — Catherine Strauch of Exeter, a student at Bates College, is one of 24 college students assisting state agencies while gaining practical skills in their respective fields of study through the Maine State Government Summer Internship Program. Strauch will be a digital learning content intern with the Maine Department of Education’s Maine Learning Technology Initiative. The Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine administers the full-time, 12-week paid work experience.

    The Maine Legislature established the Maine State Government Summer Internship Program in 1967 to attract talented college students for internships within state government. Since then, 1,661 students have participated; this year, 135 applied for 24 positions.
